Meet Miss Millie, our 1953 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. Grandpa always dreamed of owning a car like this, but he passed before he had the chance. In 2021, we found this bright green beauty and brought her back to life. She took 1st place at her first show and 2nd at the Pacific Car Show later that year. But the real reward was the time we spent together as a family. Julia, our daughter, learned how to care for her and still laughs about the springy back seat and lack of seatbelts.
These days, Julia’s passion is BMX. Most weekends are now spent at racetracks across the Midwest, and our garage has become a staging area for bikes and gear. It’s time for Miss Millie to find someone new who’ll enjoy her the way we did.
She’s mostly original, comes with a few extra parts including the original generator, relay, and oil bath air cleaner. She’s got a rebuilt Rochester 4-barrel carb, brand new vacuum advance, and fresh rear shocks. The radiator’s been rotted and boiled out by S&S Radiator. She runs and drives well, but like most cars from her era, she has no A/C, no power brakes, and no power steering. Still, she’s got charm, and a lot of life left in her.
